Random Thoughts: Jeff Leach Had It Coming

Mastodon

2023-04-02: Jeff Leach had it coming:
"Texas GOP lawmaker is tricked into reading dirty names during committee meeting."

2023-04-07: "On a vote of 86-52 the Texas House adopts amendment to ban school vouchers."
Richardson's representative, Angie Chen Button, who campaigns on a message of supporting public schools, votes to support vouchers.

2023-04-14: Every time I see the Tennessee state flag, I can't help thinking that it's what you'd get if the Nazi flag and the Confederate flag had a baby.

2023-04-14: Bob Dubey is not a new candidate. Not only is he the longest serving member on the Richardson City Council (not counting retiring Voelker), but he is campaigning on his experience. I expect more from him than anyone in this regard. Instead, his campaign finance report is the most slipshod.

2023-04-16: Say goodbye to Richardson's grand old pecan tree. The City's FAQ page now states, "Under the proposed plan for a new City Hall, the pecan tree would be removed to allow the campus to be accessed directly from Arapaho. Landscape plans with additional trees for the campus will be finalized during the design phase should a new City Hall be approved. This could include the relocation of existing trees on the campus, but staff does not believe the pecan tree is healthy enough to relocate."

2023-04-22: I this and I that. A coach shouldn't make it about himself. There's no "I" in "team."

2023-04-23: Headline: "Texas Senate passes bill to end countywide voting on Election Day." They say it will cut down on fraudulent voting. Their end goal is to end voting altogether. No voting, no fraud. QED.

2023-04-25: An athlete's declining talent, fan base out of patience for the drama to end, and a country tired of anti-vax silliness. Aaron Rodgers to NY Jets. An all-time great Packers cheesehead goes to New York as just a cheesehead. Maybe this is the best ending to a sad story. NY can absorb Rodgers's ego.

2023-04-26: Trump has a habit of projection onto Dems what he is guilty of himself. It goes back to 2016, when he said to Clinton, "No, you're the puppet." Today, in a fundraising email about Biden, Trump says, "We need to completely and totally CRUSH him at the ballot box in order to send a powerful message that the American people are 100% FED UP with the Democrats' utter destruction of our country." He's projecting again, this time about what he's worried might happen to himself.

2023-04-27: From today's Trump fundraising emails, yet another Trump projection (i.e., accusing others of his own offenses).
"You see, we accept that our enemies abroad will always try to undermine our Republic. But it is far, far worse when our own nation is undermined from within."

2023-04-27: Texas Collin County GOP wants to defund law enforcement.
