Gridiron Echoes (2014)

In celebration of another successful marching season, the Mighty Ram Band of Berkner High School put on their annual Gridiron Echoes concert in the school's newly renovated auditorium Tuesday night. And what a marching season it's been.

  • Bands of America Regional Championship: 9th Place in Prelims, 10th in Finals
  • Bands of America Super Regional Championship: 19th Place of 64 competing bands
  • UIL Region 3 Marching Band Contest: Division I (unanimous)
  • UIL Area C Marching Band Contest: 3rd Place in Prelims, 4th Place in Finals
  • UIL State Marching Band Contest: 18th place of 37 bands that advanced to State

If you didn't catch one of the band's performances this fall, ... sucks for you. You missed one of the finest marching bands in the state.

At the end of the Gridiron Echoes concert, head band director Frank Troyka announced his retirement, effective at the end of December. Mr. Troyka has been head director of the Berkner Band for seven and a half years, during which the band won more awards and accolades than you can count, and more importantly, developed some of the finest young people you could ever hope to meet. He will be missed.
