- 2019-07-01: 1. In 1972 China was a recent nuclear power. Nixon's opening towards China effectively ended any hope of denuclearization, if there had been any in the first place. Should we interpret Trump's opening towards NK the same way?
- 2019-07-01: 2. China was world's most populous country in 1972. That gave it strength. Engagement rather than isolation was a logical strategy. NK is still today a tiny, weak country. Isolation and strategic patience might still lead to denuclearization. Trump is giving up on that.
