2025-12-01: I just tested a web service that "detects AI-generated content." I fed one of my blog posts through it. It reported that it contained 74% AI-generated content. Then, for a fee, it offered to rewrite my blog post to make it appear 100% human. There's something deeply disturbing about that.
2025-12-01: I did my work for today. I reset my watch dial to show "MON" the "1st." Retirement is rough.
2025-12-02: Honduran ex-president Juan Orlando Hernández, convicted of drug trafficking, has been released from prison after receiving a full pardon from President Trump. Democrats running for Congress in 2026 should make Hernández's face as well known as George HW Bush made Willie Horton's face known in 1988.
2025-12-04: Breaking: Supreme Court upholds Texas's redistricting maps.
The majority opinion says, "We looked and couldn't find any way to squeeze in any more Republican seats, so this map will have to do."
2025-12-04: BREAKING: A grand jury has refused to re-indict Letitia James.
The old saying is that a district attorney can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich. What does that say about the case against Letitia James?
2025-12-07: Alabama asks, What's the incentive for a team to play in their conference championship game if there's no upside in it for them? Oh everyone will play, because if they choose not to, it's the same as a forfeit, and that's worse than a loss.

2025-12-12: "Smear the queer" is the name of a playground football game whose name has been changed due to the homophobic slur. The game is now known by more neutral names such as "kill the carrier". Odd isn't it that "kill" is considered an acceptable name for a children's game?

If the player:
* has control of the ball,
* is airborne, and
* the ball breaks the vertical plane of the goal line (even outside the pylon), before any part of his body touches out of bounds,
then the try counts.
