Our Recognized School District

The Richardson Independent School District achieved a rating of "Recognized" in the annual accountability ratings for Texas schools. There are four ratings: Exemplary, Recognized, Acceptable, and Unacceptable. The RISD was the largest school district in the state to earn the "Recognized" rating. Congratulations to everyone involved in the RISD, including Ellen, the linchpin of RISD's crown jewel, its Fine Arts program. :-)

"Richardson's performance shows that an ethnically diverse district serving significant numbers of economically disadvantaged and limited English proficient students can provide an excellent education to all children," said acting Education Administrator Robert Scott.

"Congratulations are in order for our talented and dedicated teachers, support staff, PTA volunteers and community partners," said RISD Superintendent Dr. David Simmons. "This news is further recognition of something our community has known for a long time - RISD is an excellent place to receive an enriching, well-rounded education."
